Poor quality chrome wheels.

About 2 years ago, I received 4 chrome plated aluminum wheels for my C4 Corvette from OE Wheels. When they arrived the bag of lug nuts and valve stems was loose in one of the boxes (fortunately it was trapped on the inside of the wheel in the box or it would have damaged the finish).

I noticed the chrome was lighter and pitted in the corners of all the spokes and that there were several discolorations (dark) in the chrome. I knew from my previous wheels (also chrome plated aluminum) that they would deteriorate quickly even if I was to wash and polish them regularly. I called OE (I don't remember who I spoke to) and after hearing that all the wheels were the same (I was considering an exchange for good wheels), I asked to return these wheels. After sending them photos of the defects and I was able to return them the same way they came with the lug nuts and valve stems secured in one box this time.

They paid for return shipping. They later claimed that I had not returned the lug nuts and valve stems and they could not find them in any of the boxes. I told them I definitely returned them and I refused to accept that they might have been left out of the box by me.

They did, finally return all my money. I will not buy from this company again due mainly to poor quality!

Contacted OE wheels, talked to customer service department and they resolved the issue. They are sending me out the wheels.

Fed x gave me a #to give to oe that my wheel order was lost I gave it to David and he said to file a police report how do you file a report when you never received them fed x lost them in the shipping process they all ways make you fill like a lair and they don’t believe you I own a large fence company and I would never treat my customers like that I would really like the wheels I order or my money back Mr dutton someone higher up in this company needs to handle this and they owe me apology for making me fill like I was lying I wonder how many orther customers they put through this please post anything about company if this has happen to you MR Dutton

Purchased some Tire Pressure Sensors from this company. They state that the sensors should last 7-9 years.

But will only warranty them for 1 year. One has now failed just before the one year mark. I reported the issue after the one year mark. They state that this has invalidated the claim.

I apologize I was not able to report the issue the second it occurred. But you should be willing to warranty the part longer if you claim they should last longer.

Alternately consider selling products that are a higher quality which do not fail prematurely.

Customer rep was arrogant and didn't care that the issue occurred before the warranty expired. Even said he didn't care that I had a bad view of his company and would provide feedback.

I purchased 4 chrome wheels for my 2007 Escalade. When they were mounted the tire company informed me 2 of the wheels couldn't be balanced and were out of round. After talking to my sales rep. Scott i was told they would have to see the readout from the spin test before they would agree to replace the wheels. One of them was way out of round but the other was right on the line of their acceptable standard even though it couldn't be balanced. They agreed to replace the worst one of the 2. Fast forward 10 months later I noticed the chrome was beginning to pit on all of the wheels. Due to a family tragedy i didn't take the time to call their office until 1 week after the anniversary of the day I bought them. I spoke to Scott again and explained the situation. He told me the warranty had expired a week ago and there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a manager and Dave came on the line. He offered me $50 off a new set of $1000 wheels. I told him that was ridiculous and i wanted 4 new wheels. He told me i must not have washed them every week and that's why the chrome was pitting. It's now been 17 months and most of the chrome is pitted. The 7 year old wheels I replaced actually look better than the 17 month old OE wheels. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THE JUNK THEY ARE SELLING!

Sounds like you should have taken better care of your chrome wheels. I have had three sets of their wheels and not one issue and the customer service was dead on...

Your just reading a few comments out of 1000s of satisfied customers. A rim run out is required to verify if a wheel is out of round.

I work at a store that has top of the line equipment, we have a printer that will print out rim run out. 99 % of the time rims are within spec. Tire uniformity in the sidewall is usually problem. Rarely does a tire have even elasticity in the side wall.

A road force tire balanced will detect the “ high point “ or the firmest point in the tires sidewall, a road force machine can find the low point in the rim. These must be matched. Can tell you the hundreds of customers who have been told by other tire shops their wheels were out of round, come to find out the tires were so out of round they needed correct balancing or replacing. As to chrome pitting.

This is caused by lack of care. Chrome will pit if brake dust is allowed to build up without cleaning regularly , as well as dirt or mud.

25 years I’ve seen it all. We recommend waxing your chrome wheel , which will give added protection.

Horrible customer service and did not want to hear about how their products are sub-par. Can not get anyone to call me back. They did not even want to see their products finish peeling off. I offered pictures and even to send the wheels back on my expense. They claim they are OE, I do t think so. Please don't do business with them.

Finish on their "Original Manufacturer" wheels are now starting to peel. When I contacted them they said there is nothing they can do and this is not normal. How about taking them back and attempting to make a good gesture. Please be aware before you buy.

Horrible company! I ordered one wheel.

And they put a "hold" on my money ($190). Then I never got the wheel and I called, they said lets resubmit it, they then put another "hold" on ANOTHER ($190$)!! so I waited and still no wheel! I called them up.

They discontinued the wheel. So they took ($390) for ONE DISCONTINUED wheel that I never got. I tell them to refund my money. They say it's been "reversed" twice.

A week later.

I still have yet to get any of my money back! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company!

OE Wheels got me for a set of the C5 Corvette style wheels on my 2002 Trans Am. First the wheels were on back order for two months and I could not get an honest answer on when they would be shipped. The wheels look great on the car and did balance fine but after 13 months on the car and appropriately 1500 miles I noticed the chrome on one of the rear wheels had started to flake off. I contacted their customer service department and the rep checked the date of purchase and told me there was nothing he could do because the wheels were outside of their 12 month warranty. I proceeded to explain to him the car is stored inside and had never seen salt or snow and that my car only has 35000 miles on it and is well cared for. The rep could not have cared less that this wheel is defective and was not interested in seeing the photos I had taken or had any concern for selling a poor quality product. I will be replacing these wheels with a quality US made product from a reputable company very soon.

I called them up about TPMS for my mini to make sure I order the right part and he assured me this was the part so I ordered it. WRONG installed it and didnt work so called and said it was a cash sale so I ordered the wrong part and told them I called to make sure and then he said they don't event have the right part and there was nothing I can do since it was mounted on the rim already

DON,T LET OE WHEELS GET YOUR CREDIT CARD, THEY SENT ME TWO WHEELS I DID NOT ODER, AND THEY CHARGED MY CARD 352.00. I CALLED THIS *** HOLE SCOTT ABOUT FIVE TIMES. HE SAID UPS CAME TO PICK UP THE WHEELS SIX TIMES, AND WE WERE NOT HERE. BULL *** STORY WE HAVE A REPAIR SHOP WE ARE OPEN ALL DAY. AFTER SIX WEEK OF CALLING UPS SHOWS UP. NOW HE SAID HE CAN,T REFUND OUR MONEY UNTIL HE GETS THE WHEELS BACK. BECAUSE WE MY HAVE PUT ROCKS IN THE BOX. SO OE WHEELS CHARGED OUR CARD ON 9-3-2015 IT IS 10 -15-**** AND WE STILL DON,T HAVE A REFUND. AND WHEN YOU CALL SCOTT GETS AN ATTITUDE WITH ME LIKE I DID HIM WRONG.

First I had to wait 5 weeks after the site said the wheel was in stock, then they sent the wrong one! After being told that I had to pay to ship it back and ship it better than they had originally, then I would be reimbursed (if it wasn't damaged). It can not be this difficult. If the model car came with only one type of wheel and it is described on the site as that type then how do you send the wrong one? It states on the box that is not the same as what was listed. That's the first and last time for me.

Also have had the worst experience with buying oe wheels, wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Bought wheels from them and when I got them some of the chrome was chipped off . The guy told they were real . After calling them out on it, then he told me it was just a powder coating that they use and can't do nothing about it. THEY SUCK don't ever buy wheels from them. They're cheap,but you only get what you pay for.

After repeatably contacting their customer service line and being told the wheels I ordered were on back order and were going to be shipped when they arrived, the wheels I had ordered and purchased were removed from the website as no longer available. According to their customer service rep., the wheels are no longer available and no additional wheels are on order. He could not explain why but was happy to refund my money. The Company did not contact me to tell me this. I had waited over a month and a half on back order to get these wheels. The company did not provide a email, letter, or any other notification that the wheels were no longer available. Insufferable customer service!

OE Wheels LLC - The BEST in the industry

I badly damaged two of my wheels on my '07 Cadillac Escalade. I love this car, and it was painful to drive my baby with 2 scratched up shoes. Needless to say I wasn't going to pay the dealership what they wanted for replacments. That's when I found OE Wheels. Within in 3 days I had 4 new replacements for half of what the dealer wanted for 2 wheels. They expedited my order and new 10 times more than the guys are the dealership. Quality is great, ride is great and the price is perfect. These guys have thousands of positive reviews on LS1tech.com, and that's why I decided to go with them. They are a first rate outfit.
